Madeline Deats

Madeline started her music education in the fourth grade, and by fifth grade, she had her heart set on playing the flute. However, duties on the family farm made it impossible for Madeline to take summer music lessons, and by fall, all of the school’s flutes had been taken by other students. When she turned down an offer to play a different instrument, Madeline’s parents rented a flute for her. Thereafter, she progressed and became a part of the school band. 

In the spring of 2020, Madeline was first introduced to A Measure for Nothing, and in no time, she became an integral part of the flute section. Madeline worked hard in preparation for what would have been her first performance with the group, until the scheduled May 3, 2020 performance was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
