Lori’s music experience began when she started playing the French
Horn in the fourth grade. It was not her instrument of choice, but
in the years that followed, she grew to love the French horn and was
privileged to not only be in the high school band but also the Area
All-State Music Festival. During Lori’s last three years of school she
learned to play the trumpet so that she could be a part of the jazz band.
She also started piano lessons at the age of 13. Lori feels that piano lessons
gave her a deeper appreciation for the beauty and value of the wide
range of emotions that could be expressed with music.
Over the last 30 years, music took a back seat, but recently, when
invited to play with A Measure for Nothing, Lori decided to dust off
her trumpet and see if she could still play. It has been both a challenge
and a joy to start playing music again. Lori hopes to someday have the
opportunity to learn to play many more instruments and to continue
to bring praise to the creator of music.
