Julie Deden

Julie began playing the flute as a high school student. Later, as a young adult, Julie became immersed in a study of the Bible, which built her faith and impressed on her the way in which Bible principles work in every situation. In the ensuing 36 years, she has continued to be impressed with the kind and happy attitude of those who, like herself, are determined to apply those principles in their everyday lives.

In recent years, Julie’s appreciation for music has grown as she learned a great variety of original songs with uplifting lyrics and observed the process involved in composing, arranging and recording choral and orchestral music. This has inspired her to give music a more prominent place in her life and worship.

With this love of music building momentum in her heart, in 2019, Julie heard about a little group called, A Measure for Nothing. She felt she was only an average flute player but was knocked off her feet by the group's camaraderie and willingness to work with ANY skill level, age, and instrument. "You used to play in high school, and the rust is substantial? Welcome home... We'd love having you with us!". Those reassuring statements moved Julie to take-the-leap in joining the group. This is Julie's first year with A Measure for Nothing. She says there are no words for the joy she feels playing again after so many years.
