Ann grew up in a family that frequently enjoyed sing-a-longs with harmony, but no one played an instrument. It was much later that Ann was exposed to instrumental music through her husband and sons who played multiple instruments. While Ann enjoyed listening to her husband and sons, she did not play herself.
Ann began to play cello for her own amusement in her own amusement when she was in her late 50’s, and she joined A Measure for Nothing in 2014 as a complete beginner. Ann started with very simple parts and has gradually learned to play more complicated parts. She tells everyone, “If you’ve always wanted to play an instrument, it’s never too late. You may not be great, but you’ll have a lot of fun and enjoy a sense of accomplishment.”
